Patents obtained from the results of Chlorella research : January 2008
We have identified, from the results of Chlorella research, the effects of this substance on inflammatory diseases such as allergy, arteriosclerosis, and autoimmune diseases, and published them as a scientific paper (Vol. 7, No. 2 of the Journal of Medicinal Food, 2004).
We have already reported that two of our patents were approved in September 2007, based on these results. Additionally two more patents have recently been approved, and we wish to announce them here.
Cytokine inhibitor and B/T-cell growth inhibitor
Testing was performed to determine Chlorella's effects on excessive immune
system function.
If certain drugs are added to human-derived cells in culture, they can induce an
abnormal state in which immune system function is excessive. When Chlorella
was added concurrently, however, the excessive immune function was inhibited.
For this reason, Chlorella is expected to exhibited effects against allergy,
autoimmune diseases, and other related conditions.
Please see the following for explanations on the research paper:

Metalloproteinases, Caspases, Cytokine Release, B and T Cell Proliferations, and
Phorbol Ester Receptor Binding"
